The Porterhouse was founded in Dublin back in the mid-90s, opening their iconic site in Temple Bar in 1996. We opened here in Covent Garden in 2000. Since then, we have been pouring pints of our award-winning craft beers, showcasing some of London’s best live music and screening all major sporting events, particularly rugby, to customers from all over the world. We are still family owned and family run and proud to be independent.

We might be one of the largest bars in London, but it does not always feel that way.  The bar is split over three main floors, with a number of mezzanine levels in between, as well as boasting one of Central London’s largest beer gardens.

Let the fast pace of London pass you by as you sit and drink a pint of Plain Porter, sip on a cocktail, watch your favourite team in action on one of the many screens or dance the night away to the live band.
